Turmeric is one of the spices used in curry. Turmeric contains curcumin, which in the lab, has several properties (antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, prevents abnormal clumping of proteins) that might help protect brain cells.
It’s unclear whether the spice could help prevent or treat memory loss in humans, or whether you could get a therapeutic dose from foods. Multiple clinical trials of curcumin for Alzheimer’s or Mild Cognitive Impairment are being conducted, but no results have been published.
