Dementia with Lewy bodies (DLB) is one of a group of illnesses called Lewy Body disorders. By itself, or together with other brain diseases like vascular dementia and Alzheimer’s, DLB can cause problems with memory and thinking as well as muscle stiffness, tremors and problems with coordination. DLB and a related disease, Parkinson’s disease with dementia (PDD), are called Lewy body dementias.
