Deaths in Aricept trial

Reuters is reporting that eleven patients have died during a clinical trial of Aricept for vascular dementia.  No patients receiving a placebo died. 

 

648 patients took Aricept during the trial; 326 took a placebo.

My father refuses to put my mom on Aricept, but I've convinced him to try this Chinese moss, which is being tested in clinical trials across the country. You can buy it at a health food store, it doesn't have serious side effects, and it is said to have similar results to Aricept.
